Summary
The global e-Commerce manager drives strategy and tactics across the company, resulting in increased revenue through all electronic channels in a business to business environment. The candidate will recommend projects and tasks within a strategic framework yielding customer loyalty, platform and channel growth, and productivity. He or she should be very familiar with online shopping and e-Procurement platforms such as Ariba and SciQuest. The manager leads a multinational team, and works cross functionally with sales and marketing, IT and customer service to prioritize and realize high impact improvements in the company’s online transactional capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Drives the global corporate e-Commerce, e-Procurement and customer Self-Service strategic planning efforts and execution planning
• Drives and leads an effective, integrated overall online ordering strategy that increases productivity, enhances the customer experience and increases sales
• Responsible for the development and implementation of the corporate customer Self-Service strategy in order to increase productivity in Customer Care and the businesses and to offer a 24/7 service to customers
• Oversees all e-Commerce related projects to harmonize and streamline the customer experience across all e-Commerce and Customer Self-Service channels: web, phone system, mobile and e-Procurement platforms
• Drives the adoption of e-Commerce and Self-Service initiatives through development of new capabilities, better user experience and new technologies
• Collaborates with team members to find the best functional and technical solutions with a balance of business value, technical complexity and operational costs
• Ensures that the first line agents in Customer Care have the appropriate tools, information and processes in place to adequately assist customers with questions about PerkinElmer’s e-Commerce and Self-Service capabilities
• Leads the 1-1 customer e-Procurement integrations and meetings and decides on the most appropriate solution for each customer related to e-catalogs, punch-out solutions, PO integration and electronic invoicing
• Responsible for the on-time delivery of new electronic catalogs to customers and for the continuous improvement of e-catalog quality and visibility
• Reports on key e-Commerce and customer Self-Service performance metrics to highlight successes, challenges and trends in transactions and costs savings
• Stays current on the newest e-Commerce and Self-Service related technologies and on competitor advances in this area
• 10-20% travel will be required
Desired Characteristics:
• Effective collaborator with ability to partner with internal departments such as Customer Care, businesses, Sales, IT, user experience teams and marketing operations
• Energetic, enthusiastic and entrepreneurial leader, comfortable both with the automation and technical components of the role as well as the business and sales aspects
• Good knowledge of Customer Care processes and experience with automation projects
• Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire team members while holding them accountable for their performance
• Ability to work effectively as a team leader and collaborate as part of a team
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Highly motivated; proactive and action‐oriented personality; strong sense of urgency
Skill/Education Requirements:
• Proven ability to develop a comprehensive strategy that meets productivity, sales and customer needs and provides a roadmap for future evolution
• 5+ years of proven web e-Commerce and e-Procurement expertise
• Excellent project/time management skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, strong follow-through
• Capable of simultaneously managing strategic initiatives, projects and production issues
• Ability to build consensus across several stakeholders in a matrix environment
• Minimum of Bachelor Degree in business
