General Accounting Manager
Location: Warsaw
We are currently seeking General Accounting Manager to support building and developing newly-emergent Shared Service Center in Warsaw.
The General Accounting Manager will have the key role in the organization and will cooperate directly with SSC Director by supporting him in developing European Shared Services Center based in Warsaw.
Responsibilities will focus on the following areas:
- Process Development and Management
- Managing and coordinating General Accounting processes within SSC organization
- Responsibility for correctness of financial data prepared by entire GL Department; reviewing and approving their work
- Acting as Subject Matter Expert for any complex accounting or finance issues in SSC
- Close cooperation with Finance Directors of all European entities
- Identifying, defining and implementing processes improvement opportunities
- Ensuring accurate and timely delivery of required financial reports that meet or exceed the Service Level Agreement
- Initiating and implementing improvements in financial systems
- Team Management
- Building, supervising and managing General Ledger Team, including current and future team members (Team Leaders and GL Accountants)
- Sharing accounting knowledge and best practices with GL Accountants as well as other Finance Teams in SSC (AP, AR, CM, FA)
- Responsibility for education, promotion and salary decisions of all GL team
- Providing performance feedback and coaching team members
- Planning, organizing and defining roles for teams to ensure that customer service expectations are met or exceeded
- Processes Transition
- Acting as transition projects manager in the initial phase of organization build
- Managing relations with Clients and key shareholders and overseeing the transition projects from European legal entities to the Warsaw Shared Services organization
Knowledge and Experience:
- Experience as Chief Accountant preferred
- Very good knowledge of financial accounting processes and controls
- Experience in managing people and teams in Accounting departments
- Solid knowledge of accounting and financial systems
- University degree with a major in finance, business or accounting or accounting professional qualifications
- Project management / Shared Services implementation experience would be a plus
- Proficiency in using Oracle General Ledger would be a plus
- Experience in General Accounting process improvement and application systems implementation would be a plus
- Ability to plan, assign and direct work
- Understanding of Shared Services General Accounting best practices
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to address employee needs and resolve problems
- Ability to develop and deliver executive-level presentations
- Willingness to travel abroad to oversee transition projects as frequently as required
