Purpose:
The Financial Accountant for Poland will be responsible for all the US and local accounting, reporting. He or she will also take full ownership of all finance related matters of the polish entity and act as primary contact with business in understanding current and future region performances.
Key responsibilities:
US Books & Reporting
• Manage the daily US GAAP general accounting and the monthly close of US books on a timely basis (Workday3 of monthly closing cycle)
• Ensure a smooth transmission of US financials to Corporate, in respect with all European and corporate guidelines, using Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and PKI technology
• Prepare quarterly finance supplemental report and annual tax supplemental report.
• Prepare, together with the ledger supervisor, a fully understandable balance sheet reviews (BSR) for the polish entities on a quarterly basis. Own all BSR issues resolution.
• Collaborate on the Tax Dashboard preparation on a quarterly basis
• Collaborate actively, together with the Supervisor, to define all revenue recognition decisions. Own issues resolution and documentation for the entity
• Provide necessary feedback to questions raised by the FP&A team on monthly performances analysis versus budget and annual operating plan
• In collaboration with the Supervisor meet with local sales management on a periodic basis to help them analyse their P/L and get from them the necessary business knowledge. Be their first finance contact.
• Be the primary contact of external auditors, and the owner of audit issue resolution on a timely and reliable basis
Local Books
• Make sure GL, Inventory, Fixed Assets, Cash and Banks, Accruals, Taxes, Deferred Taxes, Reserve (…) accounts are analysed and reconciled within agreed deadlines
• A/P role
• Reconcile on a monthly basis inter-company balances.
• Bank movements booking
• Payroll booking, files provided by an external outsourced company.
• Collaborate to the preparation of the annual Statutory Accounts, including annexes and legal & financial information.
• Perform US to Statutory books reconciliation.
• Be the primary contact of external statutory auditors and of tax auditors, and be the owner of all related issues resolution on a timely and reliable basis
• Perform monthly VAT declarations, own VAT compliance and reconciliation to the local books
• Collaborate to the preparation of the monthly corporate income tax payments (CIT) and year end tax return with the support of external Tax Advisors
Processes
• Own all compliance to corporate guidelines, policies and procedures
• Own all archiving of finance and legal documentation for the country
Personal Profile
• Highly motivated individual capable of a strong and quick implication on issues.
• Hands on individual used to be the “owner” of accounts contents and understanding.
• Great sense of urgency, availability to work in a performing environment and an absolute commitment in achieving their goals
• Passionate about accounts and demonstrated curiosity about recent accounting developments, both from a US and local GAAP standpoint.
• Process driven and organised, but with sufficient flexibility to accommodate ad hoc requests
Experience and skills:
• 3-5 years of strong local accounting or audit experience in Poland with preference for Shared Service Centre of Big4 professionals
• Fluency in Polish and English. Other language a plus.
• ERP experience, preferably SAP. Strong skills on MS Office. HFM reporting systems experience will be considered as a plus
• Highly motivated individual capable of a strong and quick implication on issues.
• Hands on individual used to be the “owner” of accounts contents and understanding.
• Great sense of urgency, availability to work in a performing environment and an absolute commitment in achieving their goals
• Passionate about accounts and demonstrated curiosity about recent accounting developments, both from a US and local GAAP standpoint.
• Demonstrated VAT/tax capabilities as well as multi companies’ statutory returns experience.
• Process driven and organised, but with sufficient flexibility to accommodate ad hoc requests
• Good written and oral communication skills
