Job description
We have an interesting position which covers end to end aspects from area of Finance Accounting and Reporting.
Scope of work starts at closing planning, review of changes of Chart of Account and financial statement manuals, includes wide range of general accounting activities and ends with the financial statement preparation, which is a final input for consolidation process.
It is a unique opportunity to get acquaint with insurance business book keeping specifics. The role includes 4-8 week transition from client.
The main activities for the role:
- Calculate and perform general ledger bookings and account reconciliation (e.g. calculate deferred income tax, accruals, provisions, pre-payments)
- Intercompany reconciliation and postings
- Provide Group and external reporting (BS, P&L, notes to financial statement – according to IFRS, Irish GAAP and Solvency regulations)
- Perform various closing activities e.g. revaluation regrouping and cost allocation cycles
- Support/collaborate in various projects such as the analysis and implementation of Group Chart of Accounts changes
- Ongoing contact with various stakeholders e.g. FAR Controllers, actuaries, local accountants, Consolidation, Performance and Planning, Treasury, Investment Accounting
- Execute and review controls within SOX framework
- Act as a support for Team Manager
- Assist in continuous improvement projects
- Act as a partner for discussion with local business unit
Candidate’s profile
- University degree - finance and accounting, economy, business administration
- Analytical skills, passion for detail, reliability, “can do” attitude, goals driven, flexibility
- At least 4 years of practical accounting experience in GL, reporting or data analysis area
- Good written and oral communication skills in English and German
As a plus:
- IFRS experience
- Knowledge of insurance/financial services legislation and regulations
- Accounting certification
- SAP knowledge
