Job description
The postion covers end to end aspects from area of Finance Accounting and Reporting - both operational, advisory and leadership. Scope of work starts at closing planning, review of changes of Chart of Account and financial statement manuals, includes wide range of general accounting activities and ends with the financial statement preparation, which is a final input for consolidation process.
It is a unique opportunity to get acquaint with insurance business book keeping specifics.
Main accountabilities
- Carry out Finance Accounting and Reporting activities - complex tasks, judgmental cases, review of Financial Statement submission
- Process oversight and leadership - team and task management (team up to 10 people), control of the processes and data provided, SOX compliance, assuring quality within the process from the below areas:
- Bookings and reconciliation performed (including I/C transactions)
- Various closing activities including: FX-revaluation, regrouping, deferred income tax, etc.
- Group reporting (IFRS, Irish GAAP) - Balance Sheet, Income Statement, disclosures
- Regulatory reporting (CBI, SST, Solvency II)
- Liason with various stakeholders e.g. FAR Controllers, actuaries, local accountants, Group Finance (Consolidation), Performance and Planning, Treasury, Investment Accounting
- Key contact for process discussions and changes to be implemented
Candidate’s profile
- University degree - finance and accounting, economy, business administration
- Analytical skills, passion for detail, reliability, “can do” attitude, goals driven, flexibility
- At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience
- At least 1 year of people management experience
- Practical accounting experience in GL, reporting, data analysis area - preferably in IFRS
- Very good written and oral communication skills in English
- As an additional asset:
- Knowledge of insurance/financial services legislation and regulations
- Accounting certification
- SAP experience
- SOX exposure
