- Develop and execute actionable activities regarding Business Group level goals
- Maintains, and improves a highly effective and well skilled staff to carry out actions to complete planned objectives
- Utilizes the talent management system
- Completes review process and salary planning
- Develops, maintains and executes a training matrix
- Supports staffing of the group to meet business demands and objectives
- Lead and support Mechanical Engineering Design reviews to ensure viable and high quality designs
- Lead and support Mechanical Engineering lab equipped with hydraulic actuation, dynamic actuators, thermal chambers, and state of the art data acquisition systems
- Assigns resources as required to product development teams or other appropriate requirements as needed
- Supports continuous systemic improvement initiatives
- Responsible for creating, maintaining and improving internal standards / procedures that result in high quality and compliant electronic products
- Supports CAC, root cause determination and/or corrective action for quality issues (escapes, NCR's, etc.) where design support is required (ECR's, Analysis, Test)
- Develops budget to support profit planning activities and manages within the approved budget constraints
- Possesses and provides technical product expertise to the extended enterprise (Suppliers, CoE, Customers, Sales & Marketing, and other divisions) as required to support the growth of the business
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering or related field
- Minimum 8 years of engineering experience in mechanical engineering
- Solid Knowledge of advanced analytical methods such as FEA/FEM, CDF, Vibration/Dynamics, and MATLAB/Simulink
- Solid knowledge of GD&T, Metallurgy, and standard manufacturing processes,
- Knowledge of hydraulic actuation and products and electromechanical products
- Some knowledge of Hazardous Area Compliance areas such as ATEX, UL, CSA
- Good leadership skills
- Solid knowledge of the product life cycle, mechanical development, especially related key deliverables
- Very good analytic and conceptual skills, pragmatic and willingness to make decisions
- Excellent people, time management, and coordinative skills
- Fluent English language skills
- Ability to coach, mentor, and motivate individuals to perform beyond their comfort zone
