EHS Manager
south of Poland
Responsible for the leadership of the Environmental, Health, Safety and Security function for the Site and operations in Poland. This position has primary responsibility for leading the development and implementation of programs and processes that ensure compliance with regulatory requirements as well as internal and external customer requirements. This is a leadership position reporting directly to the Poland Plant Director with functional reporting to the Global Director of Environmental, Health, Safety and Security.
Specific duties of the position include:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Health, Safety and Security regulations and Company objectives, policies and procedures
- Coordinate the execution of actions within the organization necessary for successful management of the physical plant and implementation of Health, Safety and Security processes
- Lead efforts to continuously improve EHS and Security performance and operations; including safety improvement programs and corrective actions, and projects focused on improving facility efficiency and meeting readiness objectives such as equipment and process risk assessments
- Define and lead EHS and Security improvement initiatives across the site (ergonomics, industrial hygiene, engineering controls, sustainability improvements, PPE, etc.)
- Identify opportunities to successfully integrate EHS and Security programs/activities into overall business operations
- Participate on and identify improvement opportunities with the site leadership team
- Support the evaluation of environmental, health and safety and/or security impacts of implementing new floor plan layouts and work processes prior to site introduction
- Lead the response to environmental, health and safety or security concerns raised by employees and participate in accident/incident investigations
- Interface, as necessary, with government agencies to maintain regulatory compliance (audits/inspections, annual reports, applications for permits, etc.)
- Provide advice and guidance on the interpretation and application of acts/regulations/requirements related to EHS and security
- Review all corrective actions related to EHS and security issues and ensure that actions are fully implemented, effective and sustainable
- Develop and lead the investigation, root cause analysis, and incident reporting processes for all non-conformances, including personnel injuries.
- Ensure accurate and timely data collection and reporting for all required corporate EHS and Security initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety or related field combined with relevant work experience required;
- Master’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Environmental strongly preferred;
- Minimum 3+ years managing the environmental, health, safety and security function in production sector;
- Very good command of English;
- Proven ability to identify, investigate, correct, and document potential environmental, health, safety and security non-conformances; Comprehensive analytical and problem solving skills Proven ability to provide focus and leadership to achieve effective implementation and maintenance of EHS and security programs;
- Detailed knowledge of policies, procedures and programs as they relate to administration of environmental, health, safety and security efforts;
- Ability to establish the vision and demonstrate a sense of urgency around maintaining a safe and efficient workplace;
- A thorough knowledge of EHS regulations;
- Strong oral and written communication skills;
- Highly motivated and self-directed; customer oriented and a strategic thinker, with a demonstrated track record of focusing EHS and security efforts on critical business needs;
- Possess strong leadership skills, with exceptional proficiency in interpersonal communications including the ability to influence others;
- Strong advocate for change with a bias for action.
