Currently we are looking for:
Downstream Development Technician
Location: Gdańsk
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the team with sample, buffer, gels and solutions preparations, weighting samples, concentration measurements, pH measurements, filtration and other routine tasks for various instruments and experiments
- Support the team with performing tests and analytical work, such as UV spectrophotometry, SDS-PAGE, ELISA, pH and conductivity measurements, protein purification
- Documenting and presenting results and conclusions to the team in a concise and understandable manner
- Calibration and maintenance of entrusted laboratory equipment such as pipettes, balances, pH-meters, etc.
- Preparing, reviewing and editing SOPs,
- Keeping records, controlling the usage and ordering of consumables and reagents
- Preparation of laboratory glass to work,
- Preparation of reagents for everyday use
- Keeping order in DSP laboratories,
- Reporting any equipment failures to Maintenance group or vendors for service or repair
- Participate in operational excellence, EHS and/or electronic data storage/analysis projects
- Collaborate with DSP, USP, Pilot Plant departments in order to achieve optimal results
Knowledge and skills required for the position:
- Ability to organize, plan, prioritize and accomplish work
- Ability to provide support in a positive, flexible and conscientious manner
- Ability to maintain efficient and well-organized laboratory
- Strong aptitude for working with scientific instrumentation
- Understanding of analytical chemistry, general chemistry/biochemistry, and principles of chromatography. Experience working with protein would be additional advantage
- Ability to carry out simple calculations and conversions for percentages, mass and volume units, dilutions, molarity of solutions, etc. Ability to perform basic calculations such as molarity, percentage, dilutions, conversion of units (kg-g-mg-µg, M-mM, L-mL-µL) will be verified at interviews
- Attention to details and ability to adhere to of relevant lab policies and procedures to promote safe and protective lab operations
- Ability to take on initiative, responsibilities and challenges
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues
- Ability to quickly learn new practices, striving for excellence in performance
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, PowerPoint)
Requirements:
- Secondary or undergraduate (BA) in Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry or related disciplines
- At least 1 year of experience in laboratory
- Knowledge of English
