Distribution Manager

Purpose of the position:

Directs distribution and service of products aligned with sales efforts, internal procedures and objectives in cost-effective way and optimizes distribution process / products sources in accordance with contracts.

Principal responsibilities:

• Leads and supervises on a daily basis service / distribution in a way that meets expected requirements at the lowest possible cost.
• Coordinates with the sales function to ensure an effective and professional approach towards customers.
• Implements procedures to properly run the daily operation of the distribution function.
• Provides service to customers in line with agreed contracts
• Troubleshoots problems related to customer services / distribution promptly and correctly:
• supervision of local customer program;
• usage of distribution optimization model;
• cooperation with other BU related to transport;
• monitoring market trends related to transport;
• cooperation with suppliers;
• cooperation with regional units / other companies to ensure products availability;
• cooperation with service centers to ensure that deliveries are made timely and cost efficiently.

Required competences:

• Ability to control and review distribution processes effectively by implementation of pre-determined distribution polices.
• Ability to lead and motivate subordinate.
• Cultivate close and effective relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Ability to communicate effectively with senior managers in functions which is dependent on the entire Supply Chain Management process.
• Thinking is carried out within clearly defined principles and solutions are found in within a range of possible alternatives.
• Impact on the business is direct and local, through effective distribution solutions.

Required key skills:

• Requires a general understanding of the concepts of distribution to maintain adequate supply levels and timely distribution to meet market demand.
• Must have an overall understanding of how other functions in the local company depends on Supply and Logistics.
• Possess a general understanding of the company’s business and business strategies and how they implicate operations on a local level.
• Expected to be knowledgeable of general trends in logistic.
• English is a must.

Required qualifications / experience:

• Possess higher vocational education / training in conjunction with a few years of qualified on the job experience or a BA degree OR an academic degree in conjunction with a few years of experience.
