Director of Convention Sales
Location: Kraków
Job description
- Lead the day-to-day activities of the convention sales team while you develop and maintain relationships with key clients
- Oversee and direct all aspects of the Convention and Events activities
- Participate in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget and financial plans
- Monitor budget and up sell products and services while minimizing waste to increase revenue
- Negotiate food and beverage prices, function space, and hotel services within approved departmental booking guidelines.
- Responsible for achieving the budget goal in the group segments, banqueting and catering
- Creating the events and needs journal for Group Sales and Field Sales coordinators
- Participation in Yield, Convention, Sales, Revenue, Morning Meetings
- Supervises the Conversion Rate for the Convention and Catering Sales
- Analyses current and potential markets/trends, coordinates all activities to maintain and increase revenue through added business volume and increased rate
- Personally handles all VIP events in the hotel
- Meets with guests from major producers/organizers of big events staying in the hotel to ensure customer satisfaction
- Competitor overview for groups, with daily monitoring of competitor results with account managers concerned. To keep updated on market trends and changes to trends for daily sales morning briefing update
- To lead monthly brainstorming sessions with sales team, and synergize with Corporate Sales for hotel packages, promotional rates aimed at improving sales performances.
- Perform other duties as assigned and may also serve as manager on duty.
Requirements
Ideally you'll have a Bachelor's degree in Hotel or Hospitality Management (or equivalent), with at least two (3) years experience as a department head. Ultimately, you have excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, proficient skills for written and oral communication in Polish and English is a MUST. The right candidate portrays a professional image at all times and posses strong multi tasking and admin skills.
