SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION
Jacobs is hiring for multiple mid-level to senior-level positions who will perform a full range of procurement and administrative activities associated with subcontracting. A subcontract is an agreement with a third party to assist in completing a project, whether through goods, services, or workers. They will be responsible for administrating a full range of subcontract types – from Time and Materials, Cost Plus and Fixed Price – up to any dollar threshold. The roles will support our North Americas Sales and Delivery organizations.
The incumbent support multiple project teams to ensure that suppliers are qualified to do business with Jacobs. You will work with project teams and suppliers in the analysis of contract requirements, special provisions, and terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and corporate policies and business unit procedures.
The incumbent excels in working with multi-national teams and organizations, has extraordinary attention to detail and is highly service oriented. An understanding of contract law, contract redlining, negotiation skills, procurement concepts, principles and practices, and the techniques of ensuring task completion and supplier relationship expectations are important.
The incumbent understands the role of procurement and its integration with other project functions, accomplishes value-added expectations, and performs assignments in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Exists within our Global Business Services Procurement organization and reports to the Procurement Operations Manager
- Is responsible for sourcing procurement and subcontracting activities for client projects
- With the guidance of senior staff, ensures applicable prime contract flow-downs are identified, and included in assigned subcontracts
- Reviews and negotiates international contracts
- Administers change order processing (creating modifications),to ensure contractual compliance
- Briefs subcontractor insurance requirements in a dedicated system
- Maintains subcontracting and purchasing process documentation
- Evaluates facts surrounding subcontract related problem areas, determines the most appropriate remedial actions, and implements such actions through available means
- Uses superior interpersonal communications skills to effectively interface with stakeholders, and functional partners at all levels of the organization
- Higher education, preferably in business, legal or similar
- Experience in Procurement, preferably in creating and managing subcontracts
- Some experience in understanding, and negotiating and commercial supplier subcontracts, preferable in an international environment
- Strong attention to detail coupled with strong analytical capabilities and skills to prioritize and manage multiple time-sensitive initiatives simultaneously
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Other languages may be an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Working knowledge of enterprise procurement systems (Oracle, Ariba) are an asset
- Available to work late shifts. The shifts will be 12 pm – 8 pm local Krakow time, working days Monday to Friday
