RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Research and deliver innovative solutions & products to maintain and grow a creative catalogue of worldwide cuisines for our customers. Always being aware of the COG’s while developing the best product at the best price.
- Conduct internal and external presentations and tastings covering a wide range of cuisines, working closely and proactively with brand and project managers. Capture and record all relevant information and make recommendations to ease the development process where necessary.
- Presenting and demonstrating a food educational program both internally and externally
- Provide background information and product provenance to support concept presentations to key customers internally and externally.
- Whilst developing new & existing products, maintain your understanding of manufacturing, technical and commercial requirements in order to meet an acceptable level of expertise within the business.
- Maintain a proactive approach to range presentations and generate a steady stream of concepts and ideas.
- Follow briefs to meet and exceed customer & brand manager’s expectations - delighting them at every opportunity within specified cost expectations.
- Consistently work to be cost aware when developing new & existing products, working with purchasing, technologists and commissioning teams to reformulate existing ranges to deliver desired quality and value optimisation at all times.
- Support manufacturing and procurement with the approval of new raw materials and become the ‘expert’ for all products produced at site.
- Develop ‘chef to chef’ relations to support the ongoing development of the business.
- Always use professional skill and experience to assist other functions and share knowledge.
- Keeping all records up to date and to a high standard of clarity and accuracy
Graduate calibre
- Previous experience working within an NPD environment in an FMCG business is preferred
- A knowledge and understanding of various world cuisines would be a distinct advantage
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- The ability to communicate effectively at all levels (both internally and externally) is essential as is the ability to delivery compelling presentations.
- Substantial culinary experience.
- Flexible with the ability to adapt.
- Computer literate.
- Driving license and prepared to undertake regular travel (mainly European / UK)
