Responsibilities:
- Perform daily UDB DBA job - installation, configuration, upgrade, Administration, monitoring, maintenance and securing.
- Training IBM WebSphere Integrator SQL and Q replication.
- Develop business and logical data models.
- Work with DBA and programmers to develop physical data models.
- Work closely with users and application developers to gain an accurate understanding of their business requirements.
- Establish and enforce standards and guidelines as set by the firm's methodology.
- Assist in educating applications groups about data administration functions.
- Respond to issues and obstacles appropriately and escalate matters responsibly.
- Validate process model with data model to ensure data is adequate for application creation.
- Perform business process reengineering on current models for possible improvements, such as automation of manual activities.
Qualifications:
- Oracle 11g Experience
- RMAN backups and restores
- Oracle SQL and DB tuning expert. Well-versed in ASH/AWR/ADDM reports
- Goldengate (replication tool) admin and tuning/troubleshooting
- OEM12C - 12C Cloud Control to monitor databases
- Day to day DBA work - killing sessions/add space/backups/work with Oracle support on db issues
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of Exadata/RAC is a big plus.
