Your role
Are you detailed orientated even when multitasking? Do you have analytical mind? We are looking for someone to contribute to analytics strategy execution and delivery within Operational Resilience. The individual on this role will has an opportunity to be an integral part and display strong ownership of a global department initiative while applying both technical and relationship management skills and help us with:
- Collecting data from various sources, cleansing and preparing data for analysis, performing exploratory data analysis to search for patterns in data in order to verify hypotheses defined in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Establishing relationships with business stakeholders within Operational Resilience to meet the information needs of the organization.
- Collaborating across business units with stakeholders, providing thought leadership, and driving day-to-day support for risk discussions with the business.
- Advising stakeholders on information options to address their specific needs, including discussing potential analytical approaches to problems, associated costs and trade-offs, and recommendations.
- Designing, coordinating, and implementing analytical business and technology solutions to support audit and innovation initiatives.
- Staying abreast of current business and industry trends relevant to UBS.
- Displaying strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership ability coupled with effective problem solving, conceptual thinking, quantitative and analytical skills.
Your team
Operational Resilience is part of the Compliance & Operational Risk Control function and provides oversight of technology, information security, outsourcing, Business Continuity Management (BCM) and program management risks across the UBS Group. We do this by assessing key processes as well as governance, risk management, and the control environment within all business divisions globally. Within Operational Resilience, our Data Analytics team works collaboratively with our stakeholders to manage all aspects of design and delivery of information solutions
Your experience and skills
You have:
- Bachelor's degree in an analytical field (Math, Statistics, Physics, Finance or IT)
- Approximately 2 years of related work experience: BI reporting, data analysis/mining, Data warehousing etc.
- A comprehensive understanding of operational risk, offshoring and outsourcing, IT risk, IT security and BCM
- Good understanding of statistical analysis techniques (descriptive statistics, statistical modelling, machine learning etc.)
- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation and technical writing skills
You are:
- Experienced (at least 3 years) at a financial services company or comparable experience working as an advisor for a financial services company
- Fluent in English
- Collaborative and team oriented but able to work independently
- Able to work under pressure in a dynamic environment
Additional assets:
- 3+ years of programming, application or reporting development experience using analytics / BI packages (e.g. R, Python, SAS, SQL, Cognos, Business Objects, MicroStrategy, Spotfire, Tableau, QlikView) to build client analysis solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Tableau and Lavastorm.
- Hold certification in one of the following: CPA, CIA, CISA, CISSP, CFE.
- Strong project management skills, ability to influence cross-functionally in a rapidly evolving business environment while managing multiple / concurrent projects.
