The GEOC is a cross-functional team that is the first point of contact for all colleagues to report actual and potential threats to Aon’s people, assets, and information. The GEOC triages relevant concerns to provide decision-makers with appropriate information to determine risks posed to Aon. The GEOC then activates and coordinates appropriate Aon resources to respond to threats, mitigate impacts, and remediate risks. Examples of situations of concern to the GEOC include political protests, natural disasters, data breaches, and cybersecurity incidents.
- serve as the first point of contact for Global Security Services through the coordination of assistance to colleagues and the business over the phone and e-mail to ensure effective and timely resolution when incidents occur
- manage global incidents, emergency notification systems, notifications and help coordinate follow-up actions across a dispersed team during emergencies and major business interruptions
- participate in 24/7/365 coverage in a follow the sun model to include holidays shifts
- prepare risk assessments and situation reports to various business lines and stakeholders across the enterprise
- schedule, lead and organize stakeholder incident management calls as necessary
- monitor a variety of public and subscription information sources to determine potential risks and threats to the business
- deliver metrics and measurements supporting program evolution and validation
- assist in the establishment of methodologies to solve analytical problems when raw unfinished data contains information gaps and requires validation
- contribute to the development of the GEOC’s role within the enterprise-wide risk management framework by providing feedback on GEOC policy, standards, SOPs, playbooks, escalation protocols, etc.
- assist the Regional Operations Manager and Global Head to build partnerships with other internal stakeholders and private/public sector entities responsible for threat related operations, threat monitoring, crisis management and response
- 3 years of experience in an incident, emergency response, or operations watch officer role
- high level of proficiency in English, with a preference for sustained professional experience in an English speaking environment
- excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate and translate Emergency and Security response practices to Senior Leaders in a corporate environment
- prior analytical experience related to security operations capacity or relevant experience in large, complex environments
- self-motivated and independent operator with the ability and maturity to make decisions in the absence of immediate direction
- strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to positively influence and challenge supportively and effectively where appropriate
- ability to work calmly and methodically when under pressure
- ability to work under tight deadlines managing multiple priorities
