The Compensation & Benefits Regional Expert will be part of the European team and work in close collaboration with the ABB Group C&B Center of Expertise to support the development of the compensation, incentives, benefits and recognition programs. The areas of responsibilities will initially be Poland as the country with the largest headcount in the region, but will be expanded at a later stage to further countries in the geographic area. Strong abilities are required to collaborate and lead projects in a virtual team. The role will also require a significant amount of communication and coordination between HR Business Partners, Labor Relations, other HR functions, legal, tax and communications. You will also monitor external trends in total rewards within the region to support the offering of equitable compensation and benefits programs.
- Managing all Compensation & Benefits related items at site level in accordance with group Compensation & Benefits Philosophy and Policies;
- Drive alignment of Compensation & Benefits related topics across different cultural environments to increase standardization & comparability within ABB;
- Act as a consultant to local ABB HRBPs in all Compensation & Benefits matters;
- Align potential acquisitions to ABB Compensation & Benefits standards;
- Ensuring that programs are in alignment with ABB Group level Compensation & Benefits principals;
- Ensuring that programs and actions are compliant with the local legislation and respective sector labor agreements;
- Enhancing effectiveness and efficiencies of local Compensation & Benefits programs, policies and processes;
- Establishing global Compensation & Benefits projects in the countries – considering local legislation;
- Continuously benchmarking current locally applied Compensation & Benefits programs with market practice in order to ensure competitiveness of our rewards programs;
- Management of annual compensation review cycle and regular benefits reviews.
- Bachelor or Master degree with specialization within HR, Legal, Economics or Finance;
- Proven track record in Compensation & Benefits Management, in particular profound knowledge and expertise in the following areas:
- Analytical Job Evaluation and Job Grading;
- Salary Band Structures;
- Variable Pay Concepts;
- Benefits Programs;
- Pension Plans;
- Reasonable knowledge of the concept and principals of sector labor agreements and their influence on compensation and benefits programs – preferably expertise gained in the labor agreement of manufacturing industry;
- Conceptual, analytical and result-oriented way of working, combined with the ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and with a “hands-on” attitude;
- Ability to influence diverse stakeholders at any level;
- Strong communicator able to translate complex compensation concepts;
- Very good knowledge of MS Office package (Excel, Power Point);
- Fluent knowledge of English in writing and speech;
- Good negotiation skills;
- Interpersonal skills are highly valued;
