The Motion Business is a fast-growing part of Rockwell Automation that develops motion control products such as servo drives, servo motors, and independent cart systems for use in industrial applications. The most common market for these products are in factory automation applications such as packaging machinery, paper converting, printing, web handling, and automated assembly. Within the product development teams of the Motion Business, embedded software needs have increased in recent years as more and more functionality is put into software. In order to expand our capacity to deliver these features, a new team will be formed in Rockwell Automation’s office in Katowice, Poland. Position Summary
The Mechanical and Hardware Engineering Team is looking for Associate Mechanical Engineer responsible for supporting design efforts for new product development of Rockwell Automation Kinetix Drives.
The Associate Mechanical Engineer works closely with other cross-functional team members within the Business and reports to the Engineering Leader.
Principal Duties:
- Support role for mechanical and power engineers in their day to day activities, like
- creating 2D/3D documentation
- creating BOMs,
- thermo analysis and tests
- assembly prototype drives
- Plans, designs and develops mechanical parts, components, mechanical systems, equipment and packaging
- Cooperation with engineers on a global level
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 1 year of related experience will be an asset
- Knowledge with modeling software such as CREO (Pro/E) or SolidWorks/Inventor
- Technical drawing on a good level
- Familiar with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and mechanical component design including sheet metal, machining, heatsink and bus bar manufacturing technologies, injection molded plastic and die casting.
- Excellent analysis and troubleshooting skills
- Detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good command of English
