Join our Engineering Team as an Application Engineer.
Application engineering to design project related software for industrial turbine systems (power plants, processing plants, pump stations, etc.). This includes control, protection and visualization systems for all prime movers.
- Autonomous detailed design of the entire control system in accordance with design standards and customer and internal specifications.
- Performing the design activities according to our engineering gateway process.
- Development of new approaches to problems encountered, e.g. conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standard solutions and/or specific environmental conditions (temperature and vibration).
- Validation and testing of the control system.
- Support and execute Factory Acceptance Tests with presence of customers and controlling agencies like ABS, GL/DNV, LR, etc.
- Creation of customer documentation (manuals, test specification, wiring diagrams).
- Onsite testing and commissioning of the system.
- Onsite troubleshooting on existing installations.
- Providing instructions and training to the customer and colleagues on the designed system.
- Creation of “lessons learned” for future projects.
- Participate in international and multi-site projects.
- Performs functions such as the creation of test setups for dynamic engine testing at customer site.
- Carries responsibility for up-to-date BOM’s, wiring diagrams, drawings, test plans, training material, etc.
- A Bachelor degree in Control, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
- Experience with simulation tools (e.g. MatLab, Simulink) is considered an advantage.
- Fundamental knowledge of PLC logic and control software programming tools(e.g. Siemens S7/TIA, GE Proficy Machine Edition, Rockwell RSLogix, etc.), as well as experience with human machine interfaces/scada systems (e.g., IFix, Citect, Intouch, WinCC) is preferred.
- Effective technical writing skills (procedures, reports, etc.).
- Competent in the use of PC's and experienced in MS-Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal expression in English is required, an extra language is a preference.
- Basic skills in problem solving and troubleshooting.
- Effective time management skills and able to work under (time) pressure.
- Good communication skills and a representative appearance.
- Willing to travel on a regular basis to support our customers and end users all over the globe.
- Mechanical skills (Knows how to hold a screwdriver, work with tools etc.)
