In this role you have an opportunity to put in practice both your scientific and engineering knowledge as you will be responsible for all activities related to upstream process development and USP laboratory operations. You will be a mentor for more junior team members as well.
- Executing USP experiments according to planned schedules and following the current quality standards
- Operation of Eppendorf, Sartorius and Thermofisher Bioreactor Systems
- Maintaining the assigned laboratory equipment up to date and in operation state following the internal maintenance and service policies
- Planning optimization experiments
- Troubleshooting and supporting process development
- Close cooperation with other teams e.g. MS&T and Production departments
- Leading a team of up to 5 members when required for specific experiments
- Representing the group and Polpharma Biologics during external conferences and events when required
- Mentoring more junior team members in technical and scientific issues related to USP
- University degree (Ph.D. on bioprocess engineering, engineering sciences, biotechnology is highly desirable)
- 5 years’ experience in mammalian cell culture for mAbs production
- Experience with biosimilars (desirable)
- Perfect understanding of Good Documentation Practices
- Working knowledge of scaling up / down of bioprocesses
- Experience with DoE planning, execution and interpretation
- Good knowledge of statistics
- Good understanding and knowledge of Bioreactor systems and their control systems
- Experience with SCADA / Delta V systems is desirable
- Fluency in written and spoken English
