Transport Economist

Responsibilities:
- Management and delivery of transport planning projects focusing on economics and business case for our strategic clients in UK, Ireland, Poland and across our international business
- Provision of analytical support to projects across the spectrum of our transportation planning business
- Training and mentoring of junior team members
- Quality assurance and peer review of transport planning work
- Business development activities as required
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- Substantial experience of transport economics including producing Business Cases, Feasibility Studies, etc.
- Experience and knowledge of transport / economic appraisal techniques and guidance including economic cost-benefit analysis
- Knowledge of the technical transport planning environment
- Strong numerate and analytical abilities, including high degree of competence in MS Excel
- The applicant should be a quick learner about the appraisal and business case processes, especially for UK Projects
- Good English skills
Desirables skills:
- Knowledge or some experience in the application of analytical and appraisal methods in the context of transport (PT and highway) and urban/public realm projects
- Understanding and exposure to webTAG guidance
- Knowledge and experience of UK appraisal and business case guidance and approaches
- Knowledge and experience of the application of rail appraisal techniques
- Experience in the use of tools such as TUBA, COBALT, GUS, etc.
- Knowledge of UK transport planning market
