Systems Administrator (Cloud)
What you will be doing:
- Works as part of a cross-functional team to conduct proactive monitoring, remote diagnostic investigation and maintenance activities on our AWS Window and Linux servers
- Act as an escalation point for all incidents involving a whole range of AWS offering: ELB, EC2, SMS, Route55, EBS, KMS, IAM, STS, CloudWatch, S3, VPC, security groups.
- Provides operations support by responding to inbound calls/emails from a wide variety of client organizations and external groups performing the necessary support required to resolve issues
- Provide support during large scale outages and disaster recovery efforts
- Identify, research, and develop process improvements and recommends them to management for implementation
- Create, use and maintain resource documentation for reference and troubleshooting problems
- Create change requests in accordance with change management policy
- Work with internal groups to create reports on up time, Service Levels, server utilization, and other key metrics as directed
- This position operates in a 24x7x365 environment. Shift work and the ability to participate in an on-call rotation as needed is required
What You Need for this Position:
- 3-8 years of System Administration on Windows OS and managing complex enterprise systems
- Experience in working in an ITIL mature environment
- Certifications in Amazon Web Services is considered an asset
- Extensive system administration experience on Windows and large scale web based application deployments
- Experience on Windows server platforms specifically Windows 2012 R2 is required
- Experience on Windows based products and services, specifically IIS, ADFS, Windows server update service, remote desktop services, etc
- Experience with OS security involving Active Directory, Windows networking, Group policies, DNS, PKI & Certificates
- Extensive knowledge of scripting languages like PowerShell, Python or Perl
- Experience with activities like OS patching, OS hardening, installation of applications, vulnerability testing, event management and log collection. Experience in automation of these tasks is a plus.
- Experience with performance tuning at OS and network level
- Experience with compliance, management and monitoring products like SumoLogic, TrendMicro, Nagios, Splunk, Logic Monitor, ICINGA, OWASP ZAP, CIS-CAT,
