Supplier Quality Engineer

Northvolt is a European supplier of high-quality battery cells and systems, made in an environmentally sustainable way. The company was founded in 2016 with the mission to build the world’s greenest battery with a minimal carbon footprint and the highest recycling capabilities.
In the plant located in Gdańsk we produce energy storage systems and battery modules that replace internal combustion engines in industrial machines. Currently Northvolt Poland is increasing its manufacturing capabilities by building a highly-automated, state-of-the-art production plant.
With our rapid expansion, we are looking for Supplier Quality Engineer for our current facility.
Key responsibilities:
- Set up quality monitoring procedures, evaluate supplier quality performance and establish improvement plans when needed
- Defining, implementing and documenting measurement methods and control
- Research and find the best vendors to supply materials needed for manufacturing process
- Investigate supplier quality and delivery issues to identify opportunities for improvement
- Communicate with vendors regularly to address any concerns and foster an environment that facilitates continual improvement in working relationships
- Maintain a supplier database and scorecards, including performance evaluations and quality control audits
- Conduct supplier quality control audits on a regular basis to ensure compliance with company production standards
- Manage the non-conformance process, develop solutions with suppliers and act as liaison between supply chain and suppliers
Skills & Requirements:
- Preferable MSc degree in technical engineering
- Experienced with auditing other manufacturing sites
- Fluent Polish and English
- Knowledge of statistics and applicable quality methodologies (Six Sigma, SPC, FMEA, 8D, root cause analysis etc.)
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
- Outstanding communication skills at all levels (written and verbal)
- Ability to read technical drawings
