Your challenge
We are currently looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join Philips Lighting Bielsko located in Bielsko-Biała.
At this position you will manage the end2end quality relationship with allocated supply base; qualify suppliers, validate and release components as well as implement supplier quality functional excellence initiatives.
Your responsibilities
- Implementing supplier quality, sustainability and supplier development processes
- Setting supplier quality requirements to suppliers and products
- Leading qualification of suppliers based on their competences and competitiveness during qualification audits
- Driving early supplier engagement in the NPI process, validating and (dis)approving release of components, assemblies and processes at suppliers
- Reporting on performance, supporting business reviews at suppliers
- Controlling and (dis)approving changes of products and processes at suppliers using industry standard practices
- Supporting the supplier development team in the identification of savings and securing implementation of the identified savings
- Working closely with suppliers to prevent quality incidents
- Accountable for quick but complete resolution of complaints and (dis)approval closure of complaints
- Compiling all data and preparing the rationale/case to ensure complete cost recovery in case of incidents

- An university degree in engineering/technology/quality or related discipline
- Several years of relevant experience in Quality, Procurement or Operations management
- Experience in regional technology company with knowledge of product and process improvement as well as early supplier engagement activities would be desired
- Auditor qualifications and related experience
- Good understanding of quality tools & modern engineering methods such as PPAP, D/PFMEA, MSA, control plans, SPC, Cpk)
- Green Belt, DMAIC
- Strong knowledge of problem solving techniques (5xWhy, 8D, Fault tree etc.)
- Influencing skills
- Acting with a sense of urgency
- Proactive attitude, assertive, result oriented
- Excellent analytical skills
- Good English
