Join our Sourcing team as a Supplier Development Engineer.
We are looking for an energetic individual who will work with our Electronics Sourcing Team on identification and implementation of methods and programs, both at the supplier and internally, to ensure that suppliers are selected, developed, and driven to exceed our supplier performance expectations and the needs of our customers.

Improve supplier performance (QDR) and solve complex quality problems through working with suppliers and other sourcing, engineering, and manufacturing teams;

Facilitate resolution of problems related to misunderstanding or misinterpretation of product specifications, tolerances, testing, etc.;

Drive and coordinate complex material/component failure analysis and problem resolution at CMs and manufacturers;

Use Quality tools: auditing principals, SPC, MSA, First Articles, PPAP, 8D, FMEA, control plans, process controls, etc. to understand and ultimately resolve issues in the supply base and internally;

Ensure alignment between suppliers and Development Engineering to ensure DFM, DFT, and ESI on new programs;

Work effectively with suppliers to resolve problems using Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA) tools;

Assist with screening, evaluation, and implementation of supplier VA/VE submissions;

Approve suppliers in an ERP system for production;

Drive and/or co-define documentation best practices with Engineering;

Contribute as Core team member as required on PTP projects;

Able to educate supplier and ensure supplier compliance with relevant product or customer specifications such as flow down documents, procedures, engineering or process drawings that apply to the products and suppliers assigned;

Support both Aerospace and Energy business groups at applicable locations;

Travel to assigned suppliers, up to 50% (domestic and international).

Technical university degree (Electronics/Electrical Engineering specialization preferred);

3-5 years of experience working as Supplier Quality Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Product Engineer, Design Engineer, or Commodity Management preferred;

Fluent English skills, additional language (e.g. German) will be an advantage.

Experience and demonstrated success in conflict resolution desired;

Able to interpret/read drawings, prints, specifications;

Demonstrated experience as “change agent” internally within company, and externally with suppliers with positive results

Technical knowledge of manufacturing process for electronic assemblies with 2-3 years of experience in production, technical or quality department would be an asset;

Experience and understanding of manufacturing standards (e.g. ISO-9001, ISO-14001, IPC standards);

Experience and ability to teach Continuous Improvement Methodologies (6 Sigma, Lean Manufacturing);

Skilled in the use of quality tools: PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, 8D;

Experience with process and product audits preferred (internal and suppliers);
