The Strategic Material Management Specialist is a unique opportunity to join our newly created Strategic Supply Chain management team in Shared Service Team and influence global strategy of Tornos. In this role a successful candidate design of new inventory management policy with key elements of material management. This is not manager or people management role.
- Inventory / material control:
- Strong knowledge on inventory management process
- Implement stock / material classification
- Analyze root causes for any material shortages and define plans for resolutions
- Identify other opportunities for inventory cost optimization
- Define and implement new inventory management strategy
- Provide timely resolution for missing inventory
- Manage waste and outdated inventory stock
- Conduct inventory accuracy audits
- Purchasing support:
- MRP purchasing skills and purchasing experience is an asset, including domestic and international procurement, outside support operations, vendor-managed material, and non-inventory items, including capital purchases.
- Manage incoming domestic and import receipts by determining and coordinating the appropriate shipment method and quantity for expedited and critical shipments
- Monitor stock quantities and implement effective inventory controls to ensure adequate but not excessive inventory levels are maintained on site and at supplier locations.
- Monitor and control:
- Define KPIs and other controls to monitor process performance and ensure targets are set and met
- Develop relationship with suppliers, procurement, warehouse and other stakeholders by handling appropriate two-way communication
- Demonstrate collaboration, alignment and flexibility to Tornos Service transformation program and overall Tornos Group strategy
- Responsible for establishing an ongoing optimization of inventory values for numerous inventory locations
- Maintains control of inventory functions consisting of managing expiration dates, actions related to recalls, return shipments and cycle counting
- Run ongoing controls for department specific inventory and anticipates outdated inventory
- Identify and minimize outdated inventory stock strategy
- Implement material classification and continuously monitor stock level for each category to ensure cost efficiency and optimize working capital usage
- Define material management strategy for respective distribution centre
- Responds to materials management concerns related to back orders
- Investigates consignment opportunities and volume discounts
- Prepares supplies and stock for return to vendors for credit
- Facilitates integrated processes with internal and external customers such as operations, procurement, logistics, distributor
- Optimize material management process steps and document respectively
- Identify KPIs and then ensure performance and process KPIs and targets are met
- Support redesign Supply Chain Process and its management by active participating in transformation project, optimization of process flow, cos efficiency research and supporting of implementation of key business initiatives within Supply Chain.

- Perform related duties as assigned or required to meet company goals and objectives
