Key responsibilities of the position:
- Assistance in providing legal support in the areas of EU law related to the external borders, criminal law and crime, including analysis and reporting of EU policy papers
- Assistance and contribution to the Frontex suggested priority areas in EnviCrime domain and other crime areas such as migrant smuggling and THB and participation in the large number of planned activities, meetings, workshops etc.
- Participation and drafting report of meetings on a daily basis from various internal meetings, online working groups with external partners and workshops
- Performing desk research, data gathering, data interpretation, and memos on policy documents in different areas of interest for LES, especially in terms of cross-border crime from the EU external borders’ perspective
- Support in the compilation and finalisation of the CBC indicators for JORA2, EUROSUR and Vulnerability Assessment and relevant follow-up activities
- Providing support to operational staff with preparation of documents, presentations and day-to-day follow-up in the chosen crime priority, especially EnviCrime, THB and Migrant Smuggling domain and beyond
- Support in drafting and reviewing texts, which may include drafting briefing notes, opinions, Implementing Rules, Director’s Decisions in relation to a variety of aspects of EU public law
- When required, support to the overall activities of the Sector through assisting in administrative matters, also by monitoring the mailbox and alerting the HoS and/or Team Leaders of requests requiring action, responding on behalf of the HoS and/or Team Leaders / Operational Officers on Sector contributions to the upper management, and any other task requested by the HoS.
Requirements:
- successfully completed secondary education related to law, administrative or management
- at least 3 year of professional experience in finance, international law or
- diplomas of: General Administration, Business Management, Financial Management, Economics, Political Sciences/ European Studies or Social Sciences
- very good command of both written and spoken English (at least C1)
- knowledge and experience in working with databases
- experience in professional layout tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign and Acrobat Pro)
