ZF TRW is a developer and producer of active and passive safety systems and serves all major vehicle manufacturers worldwide with an established footprint that includes facilities in more than 20 countries. It maintains 22 technical centers and 13 test tracks in vital markets around the world.
You will be part of a group developing embedded test software for a range of products covering ZF TRW’s portfolio of Powertrain products (Engine Management System ECUs). You will undertake test software design and development activities for market leading solutions in a dynamic, multi-project, multi-disciplined environment. This is a fast-paced sector requiring strong design and problem-solving. Key to the role is an understanding of electronic design, embedded software and design of micro-controllers.
- Development of embedded test software to interact with PC based test platforms to enable the testing of ZF TRW Powertrain ECU's;
- The example types of testing include endurance on engine simulation using hardware loads or factory based functional test utilizing LXI and GPIB instruments;
- Developing or update of existing PC tools to interface via CAN bus to the ECU.
- University degree in SW engineering, electronics, computer science or similar;
- Good interpersonal, communication and English language skills;
- Awareness of using a structured approach to designing embedded software using design tools;
- 3 years industrial experience developing real time embedded software development in C;
- Knowledge of electronic measurement and test equipment, ability to debug hardware;
- Willing and able to travel overseas (to support customers, suppliers or manufacturing sites);
- Knowledge of protocols like SPI, CAN, XCP/CCP, UDS or J1939 will be an advantage;
- Knowledge of C++, C# and .NET programming will be an advantage;
- Digital and Analogue hardware design experience will be an advantage.
