IVONA Software (an Amazon company) researches, develops and delivers multi-language Text to Speech technology, leading in voice quality and ease of use.
This position is based at IVONA headquarters in Gdynia, Poland.
As a Senior Manager of Software Development, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in design, development, test and deployment of a range of Text-to-Speech cloud and SOA products. The ideal candidates will be a passionate and strong leader with established background in developing customer-facing experiences, a strong technical ability, excellent project management skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in fast paced environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for the over-all systems development life cycle.
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the engineering team within an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Management of departmental resources, staffing, mentoring, and enhancing and maintaining a best-of-class engineering team.
- Work closely with the engineers to architect and develop the best technical design and approach.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
- Strong technical credentials, with at least several years of experience managing software development teams, ideally with some hands-on architectural or distributed systems experience.
- Professional programming experience in at least one of modern programming languages: Java, C++ or C#
- Experience in hiring and developing great people.
- A strong track record of project delivery for large, cross-functional, project.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
- A track record of communicating well with executives and non-technical leaders.
Preferred Qualifications
- MS, Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc.
- Development experience on multiple Platforms (J2ME, BREW, Cocoa, Google Android, iOS, Windows Mobile) and mobile devices (iPhone, Blackberry, Windows Phone, Android phones and tablets).
- Experience in customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches
