Senior R&D Engineer Optical Hardware Integration

Responsibilities:
- Design and development of telecommunication network elements according to customer requirements and the company's strategic objectives.
- Applying state-of-the art experimental and theoretical skills to technical problems
- Functioning as a key individual expert
- Active participation in the full product development cycle (definition, concept, design, prototype, validation, implementation)
- Working with the Application Engineering and Business Management to an in-depth assessment of the client's requirements as to the application of the product
- Cooperation with regional engineering in managing product life cycle
Requirements:
- Greater than or equal to a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering /Electrical Engineering
- Sealing systems – development experience, modeling of sealing systems, new sealing materials
- Mechanical engineering experience in designing plastic parts (Mold flow analysis)
- Hands-on experience with fabrication, assembly, test and evaluation of concepts, models, prototypes of products
- Complete development cycle including product definition, concepts, design, prototyping, validation, release to sales and launch
- 4 years of minimum experience leading/working on cross-functional project team resulting in the successful development and launch of new products
- Rapid prototyping experience
- Experience in design for manufacturability
- Written/verbal communication skills - intermediate and preferably advanced level of English language
- Project Management experience, meeting facilitation experience
Desired Skills:
- Basic knowledge of fiber optics
- Experience in design for manufacturability
- Proven record of innovation
- Familiarity with relevant industrial standards such as Telcordia, ISO and IEC
