We are seeking a talented, energetic, and self-motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Market Research Analyst. As a key member of the Market & Customer Insights team, the Senior Market Research Analyst plays an active role in planning and executing primary and secondary market research projects to inform key programs development and marketing decisions for stakeholders throughout QIAGEN.
He or she will work cross-functionally to advise, consult, ensure quality analysis and communicate insights to business partners. The Senior Market Research Analyst will be also instrumental in nurturing key internal customer and vendor relationships. In addition, the Senior Market Research Analyst will serve as the right hand person to the Senior Manager in creating direction and forward momentum for the department, developing new solutions, and more.

Position Duties & Responsibilities include:
- Under immediate supervision, create, perform, and manage all research tools and activities needed to conduct formal secondary or primary research (e.g. surveys/questionnaire, focus group, in-depth interviews, etc.).
- Work with research suppliers, planning and fielding primary research projects involving online surveys, qualitative techniques, and other research methods.
- Interface directly with key internal stakeholders and senior leadership to make recommendations grounded in customer knowledge and guided by a broader understanding of the business.
- Leverage data from multiple sources (quantitative and qualitative) to develop and drive actionable insights that inform and shape strategic planning and execution.
- Identify business opportunities by monitoring international tenders.
- Convert complex data and findings into understandable tables, graphs, and written reports.
- Post and maintain market research reports, out briefs from studies, and other research and intelligence information artifacts on the CIR Portal.
- Perform ad hoc research analysis as directed and on a need basis.
- Anticipate clients’ needs/requirements and proactively manage situations and expectations to resolve any issues.
- Collaborate with fellow Market & Customer team members on process improvement projects (e.g. development/refinement of research protocols and best practices, exploration/trial of new methodologies, process enhancements to improve team efficiency and effectiveness, etc.).
- Mentor junior members of the team in research methods and project work.
Experience:
- A BA/BS degree in Marketing/Market research, Life sciences, or Business preferred, or equivalent workrelated experience.
- 5+ years of experience in market research, strategic planning, product development, or customer insights.
Competencies:
- Experience working across multiple functions and with various team leads to deliver results.
- Experience with survey design platforms.
- Experience with data analysis and interpretation, including working with large datasets.
- Expert proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Preferred:
- Good knowledge of biotech/ pharma/ life sciences industry.
- Knowledge of third party research agencies.
- Knowledge and/or experience with social media (e.g. Facebook, twitter, etc.).
- Knowledge of statistical tools i.e. SPSS; SAS, R, etc.
- Client-facing experience.
- Ability to build and manage external and internal relationships and resolve conflicts in an effective manner.
- Ability to Interpret data and produce clear reports that illustrate research findings and insights.
- Detail oriented with attention to the rigor of the design, methodology, and analyses.
- Strong visual presentation capabilities.
- Superior interpersonal / team-building skills, particularly in a global environment.
- Effective oral and written communication skills that enable personal impact with senior-level decision makers.
- High motivation, good work ethic, maturity and personal initiative.
