About the Role:
Join the forefront of innovation in digital marketing and e-commerce technology! Brand New Galaxy is seeking a dynamic and visionary Head of Finance Operations to lead our Finance Operations team and redefine the intersection of finance and business teams.
As the Head of Finance Operations, you're not just a numbers person — you're a strategic partner who will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless integration of financial processes across all business units and will act as the bridge between finance and the heart of our operations. You will lead and oversee a small Finance Operations team and dive into complex cases, bringing your seniority and expertise to the table when needed. You will also work closely with other finance teams in the Galaxy: Accounting, Financial Reporting/Controlling and Treasury.
Head of Finance Operations will report to the CFO, with exposure to the CEO and COO, providing a unique opportunity to contribute to high-level decision-making and gain insights into the company's strategic vision.
Your mission, if you choose to accept it, will be:
- Finance business partnering – acting as a finance business partner, offering unparalleled support to business units;
- Managing financial aspects related to client accounts and projects, in particular:
- Overseeing the revenue recognition process, including invoicing, accruals and deferred income;
- Project cost and cost accrual tracking;
- Controlling personnel costs within business units.
- Forecasting business unit-level gross revenue, direct costs, and net revenue;
- Monitoring profitability and KPIs on business unit, client, and project levels.
- Utilizing cost estimate tools, pricing, and timesheet information for performance tracking.
- Planning, monitoring, and reporting on R&D activity within business units.
- Being involved in negotiations on pricing and financial terms with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial relationships
- Leading efforts in optimizing the revenue recognition process;
- Developing financial onboarding and training materials for non-finance staff, fostering a culture of financial literacy;
- Managing ERP tools for business units, actively participating in new systems implementation.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Proven experience in financial management and business controlling, preferably in a project-based business (min. 8-10 years)
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing high-performing teams.
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Good English level (min. B2/C1)
- Fluent Polish
- Familiarity with ERP tools and system implementations.
- Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
- Experience in a multinational and fast-paced reporting environment.
