We currently have an opening for a Machine Translation Engineer. The role is suitable for Developers / Computer Science graduates interested in Machine Translation and Localizations well as linguists with a specialization in Computational Linguistics.
Successful candidates will be natural problem-solvers and must be looking forward to addressing real-world challenges on a daily basis. Work at WebInterpret involves the combination of a wide range of technologies and strong quantitative analysis in order to guide further improvement. Candidates should show both scientific curiosity and engineering drive, in order to come up with an accurate description of any problem and then go on to find the most effective solution.
- Improving an in-house machine translation system: measuring quality of automatic translations, validating experiments
- Working closely with academia to improve existing system
- Building prototypes of new translation systems and ensure their proper implementation by the development team
- Playing a key role in the linguistics engineering team, working on all major aspects of natural language processing in English, French, Spanish, Italian and German languages (tokenization, named entity recognition, terminology extraction, etc.)
- 3+ years of experience in Machine Translation either at the graduate degree level or professionally
- Experience in Text normalization and text processing. Experience writing NLP tools such as Named entity recognizers, Parsers, and Spell checkers
- Proficiency in Python, C++, C# or Java
- Ability to write maintainable code: Control Version Systems, Testing, Object-Oriented design
- Advanced level of English
- Experience in building statistical models
Knowledge of R language / Python (scikit-learn, numpy, pandas)
