We are looking for Senior IT Developer with strong experience in Java/Angular technologies to secure ongoing and new product development of banking applications used to serve online banking products to Nordea clients. Home Journey is not a start-up. It is a solid project which owns significant number of microservices. About this opportunity
Welcome to Application Development – Team C. In this area you will develop software applications running on Nordea platforms which are used by our customers for online banking purposes. We add value by supporting people in becoming clients of Nordea and offering them banking products related with purchasing real estates (ex: flats, houses etc.). Would you like to develop banking applications which are used by Nordea’s customer and support them indirectly in buying flats and houses and other assets?
Our developers works mainly with Java and frontend technologies. Are proactive in communication. Oriented on Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment and focused on delivering microservices and integrated solutions. You can be one of them soon.
What you will be doing:
- Develop new features on back-end side of banking applications
- Participate in front-end development
- Tightly cooperate with our stakeholders in: Quality Assurance, Business Analyst, Product Managers. We support ourselves while working all together
- Participate strongly in building new releases
- Be responsible for full product development life cycle including maintenance of Home Journey applications which are up & running on Nordea’s platforms
- Perform regular code reviews and commit the code on a daily basis to our repositories
Core team is located in Gdynia. Two Feature Teams are located now in Warsaw. We have mainly feature teams and system team managing and controlling continuous delivery pipeline. Other stakeholders like Product Owners, Product Managers and business owners are based in Nordics.
Home Journey is one of the top agile project in Nordea. We are working accordingly to SAFe framework ( A Scaled Agile For Lean Enterprises – ver. 5.0).
The role is based in Gdynia / Gdańsk.

To succeed in this role, we believe that you:
- are effective in java programming
- no less than 4 years of professional experience in IT companies and in software developments
- will be able to implement and present the complete solution during demos and IP sprints while PI plannings.
Must have:
- Solid computer science fundamentals - data structures, architecture, design patterns
- Solid knowledge of Java (ver. 1.8 and higher)
- Knowledge of Spring framework (MVC, Boot, Security, Data, Profile, Security), JPA, Hibernate
- SQL, relational databases
- REST API
- Fluent written and verbal English
Good to have:
- Understanding of software development processes and principles, including Agile/Scrum and CI/CD. We use Jenkins (+ Groove), Kubernetes, Ansible, Docker
- Knowledge of Microservices‘ architecture
- Experience in web development: Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript
