The Data Architect is a member of the Enterprise Architect team within the IT Strategy and Architecture department. The candidate is responsible for contributing to the secure and cost-effective management of the data assets. Corporate data is one of the most vital assets, and efficient management and maintenance of corporate data is vital to achieving strategic, operational and compliance corporate objectives. The data architect will design, establish, and maintain policies, reference models, frameworks, tools, methods and other activities related to data management. The role will be responsible for issues and potential projects in areas such as metadata management, business semantics, big-data, data modeling and master data management.
- Sets Data Policy and the technical solution for the management, storage, access, navigation, movement, and transformation of data
- Specifies recommended DBMS and ETL tools and technologies for structured and unstructured content. This includes technical watch on emerging technologies and standards, including No-Sql databases and other data repositories
- Establishes a model for enterprise Master Data Managment and coordinates its development and usage
- Enforces principles of good canonical data design
- Examines and enforces opportunities to provide data reuse, balancing the issues of centralization and replication
- Ensures the preservation of strategic data assets, as applications and technologies come and go
- Reviews the work of the Data Base Administrators and monitors data quality processes
Practical and design skills in a substantial part of the following technologies:

- Master Data Management (MDM)
