We are looking for a candidate for the position:
Responsible for managing the development and implementation of accounting programs, policies and procedures from a functional or technical perspective for transportation entity.
Purpose of the role:
- Managing and overseeing the development and implementation of accounting and related functional programs (Transport Management System) to achieve desired future state and operational results, aligns leadership and resources required, and ensure effective implementation and administration.
- Data reconciliation between accounting and related functional programs to ensure correct financial results
- Managing expectations of leaders and manages expectations of managers, staff and operations, facilitates communication on customer needs and business requirements and establishes performance metrics.
- Resolving escalated, technical or sensitive accounting and operational problems or conflicts; works with internal groups or external agencies as needed and oversees the successful resolution.
- Ensuring processes and operations complies with applicable laws, rules and regulations.
- Preparing statutory financial statements, VAT declaration and other reports in line with applicable law
- Master degree in accounting or finance
- 5 years of professional experience in accounting (work in global organizations will be a great asset)
- Well-established knowledge of the Accounting Act and tax laws
- Experience with managing a subcontractor in the field of accounting will be an asset
- Ability to communicate with co-workers to provide the direction
- Ability to work with limited direct supervision
- Very good command of English
- Analytical skills, accuracy and meticulousness
