Senior Accountant (Starszy Księgowy)
Location: Warszawa
International Consulting company invites a Senior Accountant (Starszy Księgowy)
Responsibilities
- Providing comprehensive customer bookkeeping,
- Ongoing verification of accounting documents,
- Performing variance analyses and preparing account reconciliations,
- Preparing error-free accounting reports and presenting their results,
- Preparing tax declarations (CIT, VAT, PIT and others),
- Preparing financial statements,
- Preparing reports for the National Bank of Poland and Statistical Office,
- Efficient communication with clients and state authorities,
- Assisting with financial and tax audits,
- Coordinating complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the team,
- Monitor compliance with company-wide accounting policies and procedures,
- Supporting heads of accounting group in monitoring junior accountants,
- Leading month-end and year-end close process,
- Reviewing journal entries of junior accountants to ensure accuracy,
- Training and mentoring junior staff.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of general accounting experience,
- Expert knowledge of accounting principles,
- Familiarity with accounting software (preferably OPTIMA), solid MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Power Point),
- Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines,
- Certified Accountant license would be an advantage,
- Fluent English (German or Russian is an asset),
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills,
- Accuracy and attention to detail,
- Communicative, proactive and empathetic personality,
- At least a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or a related field,
- Experience in controlling payroll department is an asset.
