This role will support the accounting activities of the newly created European Centre of Excellence (ECOE) for EMEA based in Poland. Key activities of the ECOE include preparing financial statements for German and other Groupon subsidiaries and audit support if required. Further activities include being Accounting Business Partner in project team while new deals are implemented by Sales team. The role reports into the Accounting Manager and is based in Warsaw.
- Play a key role in financial statement preparation and audit coordination
- Provide quarterly US GAAP reporting for disclosures to the US through the reporting package
- Co-ordinate accounting activities with outsourcing providers
- Preparing and analyzing reporting packages and fluctuation analysis
- Coordinate and complete annual audits both external and internal
- Provide accurate information to Tax Team and external tax consultants
- Monitor statistical reporting
- Assist Accounting Manager with Sarbanes Oxley procedures by monitoring compliance with internal controls
- Support special projects (e.g. entity liquidation) and implementations aimed at improving operating efficiencies
- Polish statutory regulation knowledge and experience (any accounting certificates a plus)
- At least 8 year experience in total including at least 6 years in preparation and audit of financial statements
- Financial Shared Service Centre experience
- Experience in matrix structured work
- Communicative, initiative and empathetic personality
- Focused on development and goal oriented
- Proficient in German (is a must) and English
- Knowledge of Netsuite a plus
- Knowledge of Blackline GL reconciliations tool is an advantage
