The Senior Accountant- Europe is mainly responsible for delivery of various regional financial reporting processes across the European region and day to day responsibility for accounting of the two Polish legal entities. The Senior Accountant- Europe reports to the European Finance Controller in the Regional Headquarter in the Netherlands and is responsible for supervision of a Finance Specialist based in Poland.
- Control and monitor the Purchase to Pay (PtP) and Order to Cash (OtC) process in close cooperation with the US Shared Services Center.
- Responsible for preparation and filing of statutory reporting in multiple European countries and other statistical governmental reporting and to play lead role in managing significant parts of this process at a European level including preparing financial statements and preparing documentation for auditors.
- Perform monthly financial reviews and analysis for requests from the business and headquarters.
- Support the Corporate Income Tax calculations, VAT returns and Intrastat reporting in close coordination with the Tax team in the European Headquarter.
- Responsible for timely and accurately month-end reporting taking into account both local Polish and US GAAP requirements.
- Managing, controlling and accounting for inventory with a good understanding of revenue and expense recognition policies.
- Understand and own the balance sheet reconciliations performed by the accounting team of the US Shared Services Center.
- Assist with the annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Responsible for the execution of internal controls and pro-actively advise other departments.
- Fluent written and spoken English is a must.
- 5- 10 years solid relevant work experience in an international shared services environment.
- Previous Intercompany / Taxation / Statutory Reporting in multiple European countries and Audit support experience.
- Certified accountant or university degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent (high grade)
