About this opportunity
Welcome to the Datawarehousing Development team. We add value by designing solutions matching the capabilities to prioritised business challenges . As a Scala Developer, you’ll play a valuable role in Model Development Programme (MDP) - a group-wide programme to secure that Nordea will fulfil all ECB (European Central Bank) requirements with new risk models.
What you’ll be doing:
- creating Scala/Spark jobs for data transformation and aggregation as per the complex business requirements
- performing Unit tests of the Scala code
- raising PR, trigger build and release JAR versions for deployment via Jenkins pipeline
- performing RCA of the bugs raised
You’ll join an MDP project, which is re-developing the internal risk models with new models to fulfill all ECB regulatory requirements. The role is based in Tricity or Warsaw.

Your experience and background:
- Scala professional experience in development of data transformations is a must
- Excellent understanding of Hadoop ecosystem
- Well versed with the following technologies: Jenkins, HQL(Hive Queries), Oozie, Shell scripting IT, Splunk
- Some basic understanding of Python would be seen as an asset
