Regional Office for Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe (CESEE)
The IMF’s Regional Office (RO) in Warsaw was established in February 2005, succeeding the Resident Representative office for Poland. Its primary task is to enhance the IMF's ability to carry out economic surveillance in the CESEE Region, including on issues of financial stability, economic convergence and integration, and the jobs and growth.
To this end, the Regional Office undertakes the following:
- monitors and analyzes economic developments from a regional perspective, identifies policy issues, and informs the IMF's staff at headquarters;
- complements the work of IMF Headquarter-based mission teams by focusing on issues across the region;
- maintains contacts with governments, civil society and other relevant institutions (such as the European Commission and the ECB);
- cooperates with regional partners within the Vienna 2 Initiative framework for safeguarding financial stability in the region;
- provides information to the media and other interested groups about the IMF's economic analysis and policy advice in the region.

Job description
a full-time one-year contract, starting date: October 1, 2019
Requirements
- a strong educational background in economics (excellent grades, recent graduate or last-year student)
- excellent command of English, both written and spoken
- very good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- attention to detail and willingness to work with large data sets
- experience with statistical software (ideally Stata) will be a clear advantage
