The successful candidate to this role is given the opportunity to provide significant support (up to 90%) to the strategically critical Espoir-OneERP project which is implementing ERP systems (mainly SAP S/4 HANA and BW/GPM) and related processes for the 15 Company codes of Japan. The coverage of the role shall be in the areas of Financial Accounting (FI), namely period end closing and Statutory & Tax reporting. This support is expected to last up to the end of post go-live support (anticipated 1st April 2024). This will give the incumbent a valuable opportunity to develop in-depth knowledge of SAP S/4 HANA Parallel Ledgers, related period end closing and IFRS/STAT/TAX reporting. Whilst contributing to a highly critical company initiative, this will give great exposure and visibility accross various key stakeholders.
After this period, the candidate's responsibilities will shift to focus full-time on the R2R Competency Center using the in-depth knowledge and experience from OneERP.
Being an agile team, the Competency Centre's responsibility is to simplify, standardize and automate the end-to-end record-to-report (R2R) mega process at a global level. The aim is to improve efficiency within Closing, Consolidation and Reporting process and free up time for value added business partnership activities. As a custodian of the GRM (Global Reference Model), this includes monitoring actual business practice vs. GRM requirements to enforce compliance with best practices, addressing impact of new business practices on R2R process, assessing further automation opportunities, and identifying areas of continuous improvement.

- R2R CC: Enforces compliance of actual business practices with GRM requirements. Supports entities with implementation of best practices in R2R process to drive efficient use of the system and eliminate unnecessary adjustments and manual efforts. Act as point of contact for R2R related queries from the wider Finance community. Review and assess change requests to ensure ongoing compliance with GRM (e.g., process, system)
- R2R CC: Support the development and delivery of projects and continuous improvement activities which standardize the R2R landscape. Initiate, prioritize and deliver on initiatives which: bring efficiencies, reduce duplication, define, and roll out best practices, promote existing and new automation allowing more time for value-added activities whilst maximizing SAP system opportunities.
- R2R CC: Support cross-functional projects and work with other mega process leads to ensure business driven modifications are incorporated in financial processes in most optimal way. Support SAP (light) implementation for non-SAP entities.
- R2R CC: Support the wider Team (e.g., Corporate Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Procurement) on ad-hoc financial analysis and detailed investigation work as and when required.
- Espoir-OneERP: Through participation in Espoir-One ERP project for Japan, build expertise in the areas of FI - period end closing and Statutory & Tax reporting to be able to support Japan post S/4 go-live and other One Tobacco entities in line with GRM. Make additions/improvements to the GRM in the areas of responsibility.
- Espoir-OneERP: Support the execution of Espoir OneERP functional integration testing’s (FITs) and user acceptance testing (UAT) - preparation of materials, facilitation, defect resolution, change management clarifications, etc.
- Espoir-OneERP: Support the final EspoirOne 2024 Jan go-live preparations and take active role in an intensive post go-live support for Japan - in liaison with Japanese entities finance teams, JT BC, BTS and GBSs.
- University degree
- Qualified Accountant
- A minimum of 5 years finance experience, preferably in financial accounting, closing and reporting
- Basic knowledge of corporate income tax would be an advantage
- English fluent
- SAP user knowledge (preferably S/4 HANA)
