3Shape is the “Google” of the dental industry, The leader of the dental CAD/CAM market. We are specialists in the production of 3D scanners, present in Poland for over 10 years.
To support further growth, we are looking for an R&D engineer for our Product Lifecycle team of around 15 mechanical, electronics and software engineers. The team works on improving the quality of products in the field and efficiency in production by conducting production near RD in close collaboration with Global Quality, Production, Procurement and Support as well R&D colleges from Denmark and Ukraine.
The position is based in the R&D department at our Production facility in Szczecin (Poland).

We seek a skilled Engineer or Physicist with qualifications to understand the physical working methods of our 3D scanners and help bridging the gap between R&D and Production
You will analyze production and quality issues, make hypothesis about underlying physical effects, carry out experiments to verify this and implement suitable changes. You will further contribute to design for manufacture by providing experience and knowledge from existing production.
The work will be carried out in close collaboration with both local Engineers in Poland and R&D engineers from Poland and Denmark. Hence you can expect to travel for 10-20 days/year.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, implementer with some years of experience within development or production of technical products and has:
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in applied physics, electronics, mechanics, physics or related
- Preferably knowledge about 3D optical scanners or similar
- Analytical mindset to find most important problems and their root causes
- Ability to propose and implement changes
- Good at communicating with both Production and R&D organization
- Familiarity with software for controlling lab experiments and collecting results in databases
- Experience in creating software for embedded systems will be an advantage
- Hands-on experience with data analysis tools (Excel, Python or similar)
