We are searching for suitable candidates for the position of Propulsion Engineer for our Client’s new investment located in Lower Silesia, Poland.
XEOS is the engine overhaul joint venture between Lufthansa Technik and GE Aviation. From 2018, it will start operations as state-of-the art engine service centre in the Legnica Special Economic Zone in Środa Śląska, Poland. At start of operations, XEOS will mainly service GEnx-2B engines, which currently power the new Boeing 747-8 aircrafts (“jumbo jets”). By 2021, the centre will be capable of servicing the new GE9X engines – the world’s most technologically advanced aircraft engine in its class.
As a Propulsion Engineer you should provide workscope instructions to the shop floor, collect technical information from the shop, give workscope recommendations and provide the shop visit report to the customer.
Your essential responsibilities will include translating customer workscope and customer requirements into work instructions, defining qualification levels for the maintenance tasks on job cards, implementing regulatory requirements and recommendations from OEM’s and Design Organisations (e.g. SB, EB, SIL). You will be also checking customer workscope and provide recommendations, as well as implementing OEM requirements in manufacturing process on the basis of approved data and provide technical information and the shop visit report to the customer. You will be also responsible for assembling and disassembling procedures.
To be successful in this role you should possess profound knowledge of relevant aircraft engines, aircrafts and engine parts and components as well as profound knowledge of machining process, test and examination processes incl. knowledge of error detection processes. You should be familiar with relevant materials such as processing materials and consumables and basic business management knowledge for profitability calculations. Our Client expects you to hold master’s degree in aviation technology, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or equivalent in related discipline. Other educational backgrounds may also be suitable if accompanied with highly relevant work experience. We expect you to have several years of experience in planning of maintenance or production of aviation products. Very good English language knowledge is a must, Polish and/or German would be beneficial. You should have well developed leadership skills, ability to manage complex problems, demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. You should be able to work under pressure and be able to take quick decisions.
