Description
Position will provide you with the opportunity to work on various projects around the World. Each day you will be an important team member as you will participate in the planning, design, coordination, and execution, of multiple projects. These Industrial and Advanced Technology (Steel, Automotive, Consumer Products, Semiconductors and Pharmaceutical) facilities of production units within liquid and gas storage systems, liquids/gas processing, pump and compressor stations, loading and unloading stations, interconnecting pipe racks, also steam tracing, and utility units located worldwide.
Main responsibilites:
- Performing plant and piping design work across several engineering disciplines in the 3D integrated design systems (PDS, SP3D, CADWorx),
- Selecting pre-engineered pipe supports based on AutoPIPE/ Caesar loads,
- Performing pipe stress analysis including both static and dynamic analysis for complex piping systems,
- Introducing and performing quality review check for 3D modeling and piping deliverables,
- Participating in design reviews, risk assessments, and vendor bid evaluations,
- Assisting in the generation of proposals, scopes, schedules and budgets for project,
- Supervising, training and mentoring less experienced stress designers.
Qualifications
- Relevant experience in engineering/design, preferably in chemical/consumer products/electronic industry,
- Strong experience of piping stress analysis ( in at least one of the tools: AutoPipe, Caesar),
- Associate engineering degree, preferably in Mechanical/Piping engineering,
- Strong knowledge of code requirements for pipe stress analysis (ASME B31.3 & ASCE 7-10),
- Broad knowledge about other disciplines (Structural, Mechanical, Process),
- Very good skills in CAD software (AutoCAD) and MS office suite (Word, Excel),
- Good English level - written and spoken (B2),
- Capable of communicating nodal loads to structural engineer,
- Capable of resolving most pipe stress issues without guidance,
- Good understanding of AutoPIPE/Caesar stress outputs,
- Good understanding of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) as it relates to pipe supports and its effect on the pipe stress,
- Capable of designing & performing calculations of custom pipe supports based on nodal loads,
- Good understanding of seismic design criteria (ASCE 7-10) and its effects on above ground piping ,
- Familiar or willing to learn complexities of Semiconductor facilities,
- Ability to interact with other engineering disciplines, clients, and vendors at all levels,
- Flexibility for travel to other location will be appreciated in moderate time frame.
