Purpose of the function:
Manage the safe execution of industrial process automation projects and their delivery, compliant with agreed contract and project objectives, within schedule deadlines and budget ensuring quality, profit maximization and customer satisfaction as Project Manager Kierownik Projektu.
The Project Manager - Kierownik Projektu is the overall company focal point for our clients, [EPC contractor, end-user (Oil & gas exploration, oil refining, petrochemical, chemical, power & utility)], suppliers, company management, and project team and is in charge of the project from contract hand-over from sales until project closing and handover to the Service organization.

Responsibilities
Activities (examples)
Result Area 1 – Sales support
Support and advise sales and customer organisations with process automation project management expertise in the sales phase, resulting in customer understanding and improvement of company competitive position.
- Support the sales organization with order acquisition
- Support (advise) customers in optimal use and appreciation of company project management and execution capabilities
Result Area 2 – Project Initiation
Review, clarify, and accept project objectives, scope, deliverables, budget, schedule deadlines, and terms & conditions. Compose the project team as company commitment to the project. Define internal and external communication requirements and present the project to all concerned.
- Manage customer, end user, suppliers, and internal interests
- Organize (internal) Kickoff meeting (KOM) and complete phase gate check sheets
- Define and implement project document, archive and reporting structure and include applicable internal and external standards
- Assess project for re-use of previous applications and lessons learned
- Prepare for periodical assessment of QHSE and project risks
- Make sure that project objectives, contract, standards, re-use and lessons learned are clear to all concerned.
Result Area 3 – Project Planning
In line with the project objectives: devise, conclude, and maintain a workable total project plan to accomplish the project scope within schedule deadlines and budget. Meet quality requirements taking safety as a first priority.
- Specify for type A projects the Project Execution Plan (PEP) and the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and for type B projects the Project Management Plan (PMP), including deliverables. And agree with customer
- Review the work-break-down structure (WBS), costing, billing and cash flow, and the detailed planning
- Assign the project plan and individual tasks to the project team members
- Prepare for proactive project monitoring, control, and reporting as an on- going project activity
Result Area 4 – Project Execution
Manage the project resources, e.g. team-members, suppliers, to carry out the total project plan compliant with project objectives and contract.
URS = User Requirements Specification
FEED = Front End Engineering and Design
FDS = Functional Design Specification
- Manage the specification of URS, FEED and/or FDS and take care of customer approval
- In case of contractor, take care of end user support for the FEED/FDS
- Execute the project compliant with the project life cycle
- Decide on make or buy, i.e. outsourcing, and take care of appropriate specifications and contracts for outsourcing and procurement; manage/supervise these processes
- Provide appropriate documentation for progress and milestone invoicing
- Ensure factory and site acceptance test with clear waivers and outstanding points and manage to resolve them
- Communicate with concerned internal and external parties to co-ordinate decisions and project activities. Confirm in writing
Result Area 5 – Project Monitoring and Controlling
Ensure that project objectives are met by monitoring project progress in terms of technical implementation, changes, resources, schedule, costs, and cash plan and by taking immediate corrective action where necessary
Perform strict scope and change control and the most efficient execution compliant with the contract and project objectives, leading to improved financial results.
- Monitor progress, evaluate alternatives and improvements
- Monitor the quality and quantity of resources
- Monitor the project schedule and invoicing. Manage cash collection
- Accommodate QHSE risk assessments and audits
- Sign off all project progress documents and invoices (no signature = no payment). Take care of company and customer or user signatures
- Authorize proposals and deviations in design, schedule and budget
- Take corrective actions if necessary and timely and completely inform/agree with the customer on scope changes, schedule and cost impact
- Confirm decisions in writing
Result Area 6 – Project Closing
Formalize the customer acceptance of the project and bring it to an orderly end. Formalize project closing in case the project is put on hold or cancelled.
- Secure acceptance by the customer, execute and expedite final invoicing and support F&C with the cash collection
- Manage the realization of the 'As built' and other documentation compliant
- with the project contract for hand-over to the local service organization
- Arrange close-out meeting and identify clear opportunities for re-use and lessons learned
- Hand over the project to the service organization
- Feedback to Sales, Delivery, and Service organization
- Close the administration including archiving

- In the case of significant project changes adapt the project type and management processes
- Arrange adequate quality and quality of competences in the project team, in co-operation with line management. Support line management with on-the- job staff training

- Professional communication with all stakeholders is key to the success of a project, and must be included in the project plans and continuously evaluated
- Evaluate business processes and report improvement proposals
Required experience in project management, process automation, project engineering andcontrol system engineering: 5~10 years
Location of duty: Warszawa
Business travel requirement: Mainly within Poland, 3 –4 times/month (depending on project status)
if you have experience as Project Manager Kierownik Projektu it would be advantage
Preferable certification: PMP by PMI, FSM by TÜV.
