About the role:
This is a professional level position in the Product Reliability Engineering (PRE) Organization of VISA. The PRE is responsible for providing support to critical highly available applications under Value Added Services.
- Be responsible for availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, detecting problems, performing root cause analysis, identifying, and implementing permanent solutions.
- Interaction with Systems, Database personnel, Engineering, Product Development, Clients, Risk, and various groups within Technology.
- Participation in capacity planning and design reviews to identify design gaps in supportability and resiliency.
- Bring creative curiosity and technology experience to work every day and help build dashboards, audits, alerts, and solutions.
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related engineering field, and at least 2 years of work experience.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Production support working in a distributed team.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Skills and experience with Containers, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Skills and experience with Hadoop and Kafka.
- Skills and experience with Linux and UNIX.
- Experience with Hazelcast.
- Experience in working with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Ability to understand and write complex Database queries.
- Skills and experience with Java, J2EE and scripting technologies.
- Ability to analyze thread dumps, heap dumps, garbage collection and other related JVM components.
- Working knowledge of production support processes such as incident/change/problem management, call triaging, escalation procedures using tools such as Service Now.
- Strong execution and analytical abilities. Ability to solve complex production problems.
- Dynamic, hard-working, and ambitious individual with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Prior working experience with payment and transaction domains is advantageous.
