In the role as Product Category Business Leader, you are responsible for leading the development of the selling approach as the “CEO” of one of our Product Category (e.g. textiles, bedroom or kitchens) and for defining the sales strategy to maximize growth and profitability in all channels.
For this role we believe you have previous experience in Business Management (or similar commercial background, e.g. marketing), interest in Retail, Home Furnishing and E-commerce.
You are performance-oriented person, motivated to influence the reality, reach your goals and act with speed when deviations occur.
You identify opportunities for complementary selling, cross-selling and up-selling of IKEA products and services to fulfil customer needs. You have broad knowledge about the local market environment, expectations from customers today and tomorrow and secure that commercial offer meets customer demands and needs. You are skilled at analysing data, prioritising and making decisions with speed and simplicity.
Moreover, you have strong ability to lead while communicating in an inspirational way and cooperate with other functions in order to involve your stakeholders to make your plan a reality across all the channels and store units.
- Define long term growth strategy of the business through the development of the commercial offer, sales techniques and activities through all channels embracing both – internal and external threats and opportunities
- Steer the range, dimensioning and price ladder for the Product Category to make sure it meets customer needs and business goals
- Be responsible for the Sales planning and forecasting for the defined Product Categories
- Steer sales and gross margin across channels to reach plan and react to deviations to ensure sales output is in line with selling objectives
- Coach sales team members in stores to develop competence on selling and make Product Category plan a reality in stores
- Cooperate within Commercial function (e.g. logistics, marketing, home furnishing department), communicating in clear and inspirational way in order to involve other key stakeholders
- Contribute to the integrated multichannel executions of the Product Category unit working closely with Digital department
- Be an active player in driving an open and sharing climate in the team and beyond, be a role model of the IKEA values
