The role will have specific responsibility for regional EU pricing strategy and tactics within Elavon’s EU business while partnering with Sales & Product, identifying opportunities, and executing actions that drive profits. This will require advanced analytical skills for translating market data and insights into portfolio pricing and Go To Market pricing strategies. This will also require a high level of collaboration with Elavon’s Sales leaders, working on bid/deal pricing for new business opportunities and creating mutually beneficial commercial propositions that win Elavon new or renewal revenue.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop a team of pricing professionals to achieve functional excellence in pricing strategy and tactics or governance
- Lead efforts for formulating regional pricing strategy for complex new and existing products/services, product implementation, promotions, distribution channel strategies and selection, public policy issues
- Evaluate competitive data and market trends and drive frequent iteration of pricing for Elavon products
- Conduct complex crossover and profitability analysis by market and apply it to an understanding of varying competitive strategies within the industry to make recommendations
- Partner with product owners to drive pricing and packaging and monetisation ideas from concept to market test to market launch
- Interact regularly with Product, Finance, and Sales stakeholders to understand business drivers of customer pricing deals; and with all custom pricing and strategic pricing teams to deliver a consolidated view of activity
- Identify and communicate reporting requirements for operation reviews; ensure consistency of reporting across all channels; prepare reports with key metrics for communication as needed
- Lead reporting calls with respective channel to discuss key trends, reporting needs, best practices and/or areas of concern
- Identify opportunities to package product offerings together to drive broader adoption of the products and increase revenue for B2B sales
- Experience leading B2B pricing strategy, utilising internal and competitive data
- Degree in Finance, Economics (or equivalent degree) and/ or equivalent work experience; a quantitative background is highly preferred.
- Understanding of market elasticity and pricing impacts on profit margins
- Solid evaluation, research and analytical skills
- Highly experienced with Excel, Salesforce and other applicable business systems for data collection, financial analysis and computer modelling
- Strong and persuasive verbal and written communication, excellent prioritisation and time management skills and creative problem-solving abilities
- Ability to quickly develop, test, execute, analyse, and iterate, all the while driving consensus amongst multiple senior stakeholders
- Exceptional people skills, promoting a spirit of partnership, in engaging and consulting Sales and diverse, cross-functional teams
- Agility to perform in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment without losing attention to detail
- Experience leading a team
- Payments industry experience is preferred but not essential
