Using a best-in-class client service management platform; a robust and detailed monitoring platform; and a well-structured process model, you will have all the tools you need to deliver an excellent client experience in all scenarios.
The Platform Support Team are responsible for maintaining and improving the Storage backup and virtualization environment that supports our client estates through:
- Investigation and troubleshooting of Incidents and Problems
- Active life cycle management process and initiatives
- Driving end of life data migrations
- Provisioning storage
- Monitoring available performance and capacity levels within the estate
- Building strong relationships with your peers and the clients
- Managing call escalations to vendor support
You’ll hit the ground running with involvement in a migration to a brand new Solidfire storage platform, supported by vendors. Beyond that, having joint responsibility with your team members across a diverse estate means there is never a dull moment and active tasks to complete. You could be collaborating on a problematic storage performance investigation; speaking to another team about the storage platforms available for them to consume from; or just helping make a client’s day by handling a storage provisioning request in record time.
Key Responsibilities
- You will actively manage a diverse & complex storage landscape, built upon a predominantly HDS base.
- You will drive active migration of part of the estate to a new SolidFire platform
- Through interaction with other internal departments and directly with clients, you will resolve complex technical challenges impacting or emanating from the storage estate.
- You will actively document your work, through short term ticket entries and longer term knowledge base article creation
- Through various associate development initiatives, you will provide storage focused education to colleagues within your direct team and in wider teams.
- You will actively collaborate with other support teams on current incidents
- You will maintain focus on capacity levels within the managed estate, both on a day to day basis and when performing requested provisioning.
- Ensure all changes are documented and executed in line with the change management process
Knowledge
Required
- Excellent storage array administration skills
- Excellent SAN administration skills (on Brocade and Cisco)
- Very strong demonstrable storage knowledge (breadth and depth)
- Strong Windows or Linux server knowledge
- Experience with Hitachi storage platforms
- Experience across multiple transport technologies (FC, CIFS, NFS, REST)
- Experience managing storage in a VMWare environment
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (as related to intersite replication and NAS)
Desired
- Experience with SolidFire storage platforms
- Experience with IBM storage platforms
- Experience with EMC Centera storage platforms
- Experience with Netbackup

Experience
Required
- At least 5 years’ experience in an Enterprise level IT role
- At least 2 years’ experience with a primary focus on Storage
- Experience running mission critical systems within a multi-site data centre environment
- Experience with ITIL processes

- Tertiary education in a computing-related discipline (Bachelors +)
