HOCS Projects is a dynamic new, Calgary-based EPPM service provider. We specialize in Heavy Oil and SAGD facilities design, implementation and operational assistance. We are currently seeking Intermediate and Senior Level Piping Designers to join our Piping Design team. As a Piping Stress Engineer in our growing company, you will have the opportunity to work in a multi-disciplinary design and construction support team.

The Piping Stress Engineer role will give you the opportunity to:
- Work on multiple projects from concept to design and through construction and commissioning stages.
- Mentor junior staff.
- Learn from experienced industry professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Provide input to project control and report systems, including preparation of staff hour estimates, attending review meetings, maintaining progress reports, liaising with project engineers for progress planning and schedule updates, and preparing the discipline section of monthly reports.
- Prepare discipline Design Criteria for engineering or design activities.
- Ensure technical integrity of discipline design deliverables.
- Ensure all document checking and design verification tasks have been completed in accordance with company and project procedures.
- Review and approve design documentation prepared by the discipline, such as piping flexibility and stress reports, nozzle load reports, pipe support load calculations, and specialty item data sheets such as spring supports.
- Perform analysis and calculations, conduct studies and prepare reports.
- Checking and stamping of calculations, reports and drawings / isometrics.
- Interface with Piping Design and Civil/Structural Disciplines.
- Mentor more junior members of the team.
Wymagania
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Piping Stress Engineering work in an EPC environment using Caesar II. Experience with AutoPipe and NozzlePro is an asset.
- Working knowledge of ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4, ASME B16.5, ASME VIII, CSA B51, CSA Z662, API 5L, CSA Z245.1, CSA Z245.11, CSA Z245.12, and ABSA requirements.
- Experience with buried piping is an asset.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the engineering development process and typical Piping Engineering deliverables such as piping isometrics, piping line classes, line designation tables, specialty items, material selection diagrams, and so on.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Good command of the English language, both verbal and written.
